I really liked the variety of types that this box included this month. It just seemed like a pretty solid mix of skin/hair/makeup items. Bonus points for no fragrance samples – I am afraid I’m never going to get through the myriad of little vials littering my samples basket I have stored in my bathroom.
I love how simple products from Malin + Goetz are, the packaging is unassuming, and the scent is always wonderful. The Peppermint Shampoo is no exception. I really like this as a clarifying shampoo, it was able to get rid of a weeks’ worth of product build up without being too harsh or stripping.
I hadn’t seen much of the Nuance Salma Hayek line before outside of Amazon, so was surprised to see the AM/PM Anti-Aging Supercream included. I’m really glad it was though, since it’s a pretty solid moisturizer. It does have a heavy-ish texture to it, but it does absorb quickly. If you rush your routine in the morning, I’d suggest using it as a night cream as it may make your base sit funny if you don’t let it sink in fully.
To be frank, I’m not impressed with the Bumble and Bumble Grooming Creme as a blowout product. There are just so many other products that tame my dehydrated wavy fine hair so much better (and for less money)… It does suggest a bunch of other ways to use it, of which I’m still experimenting with.
You already know about my feelings on the Benefit They’re Real Push-Up Liner. Hands down my Holy Grail (at least the original black color is, the bright color ones don’t have as much pigment as I’d like). Super pigmented and stays like a beast without smudging even in East Coast Humidity. The deluxe sample is a little different from the full size since you actually have to squeeze the gel up instead of twisting the bottom, but still great for a gym bag.
I was pretty excited about the Allure & Butter London Arm Candy Collection when they announced it. The color I got, Violet’s Revenge, is the perfect combination of purple and blue. While it’s not a color I’d regularly wear, it is really pretty. Plus, the Butter London polishes always seem to hold up well and I get to make a bunch of Charlie & The Chocolate Factory jokes when I use it. [=
I will be the first to admit, I am a huge French Pharmacy brand fan girl. Everything I’ve tried from La Roche Posay, Avène, and Vichy I have absolutely loved. So I had high expectations for the Eau Termale Avène Cleanance Gel Cleanser, but they ended up falling a little flat. By all means it’s not anywhere close to being a dud cleanser, it just didn’t wow me. I think I’m officially a oil/balm cleanser convert, gels just seem meh. However, if you’re looking for something friendly for sensitive skin and no frills, this might be up your alley.
