I kind of adore the actual Birchbox box this month. The design is just as cute as what was included in the box. Which was a great combination of products that I wouldn’t normally choose for myself.
When I was watching the reveal of which samples you could choose from, I was not too excited until they came back with Whish Revitalizing Cleansing Oil as an option. I LOVE me a good cleansing oil. I’d say it’s much more of a gel consistency that turns into an oil, but it does a great job at taking off the days makeup as a first cleanser. If using it as a primary cleanser, it does leave a film since it’s a bit heavier. If this bothers you, I’d recommend using a muslin (or regular wash) cloth to rinse it off with. It is pretty potent fragrance wise since it is mostly olive fruit oil, rose hip oil, and coconut oil. That being said, I love the smell and am not sensitive to scents in general.
I don’t like using the Obliphica Seaberry Serum on wet hair as it takes a bit too long to absorb. However, I love running a few pumps of this serum through the ends of my hair before bed. By morning, it has soaked in making my ends much more hydrated without looking greasy or *too* shiny.
Not Soap, Radio Body Wash in Liquid Freud (when you need to turn up the volume on your inner voice of reason). I like this mostly for the name. The scent is also quite nice, but pretty subtle. It did leave my skin feeling pretty tight though, which I did not expect as it doesn’t have sulfates or phthalates in the formula.
I’m very picky when it comes to lip balms that are pH sensitive. Most of the time the color is just a little too pink and warm for the rest of my makeup. Surprisingly not so with Birchbox’s new brand ARROW and their BOOST Color Enhancing Lip Balm. It’s more subtle than I’m used to and feels lightweight by hydrating. Doesn’t do too much for moisture long term though, so don’t throw out your Carmex just yet.
Well, it’s safe to say the Color Club That’s My Jam, was not my jam. It was a pretty color, but it just didn’t necessarily impress me more than any other run of the mill polish. Sorry I don’t have more to say about it, my experience with it overall was just average.
