For those of you that read Brooke Elise, this is old news (and if you don’t you totally should). The news being that this past Saturday was spent knocking off a few items that were on my lust list, and a few that weren’t but should have been. After 4 hours driving North in horrendous Holiday traffic, I finally made it to our Blogger Date dubbed #ShadeBrigadeTakesSeattle.
A few months ago, Brooke and I decided that we needed to hit up the Charlotte Tilbury counter at our closest Nordstroms (well, that had one at least). Goal in mind being the infamous The Dolce Vita palette. It was swoon at first swatch. Honestly, I ended up going a bit overboard compared to what I originally planned. (So. Worth.) It didn’t help, or did, that the super sweet lead makeup artist was an absolute doll and utterly indulged our swatching, oohing, and awing.
I walked away with a much lighter wallet, but a very happy heart. I’d originally fallen in love with the Matte Revolution Lipsticks during my trip to London, and knew I was probably going to pick up a few more shades. It being winter again, Love Liberty and Glastonberry were a no brainer. The Color Chameleon eyeshadow stick in Black Diamonds promptly got put on the purchase list once swatched, it’ll be the perfect accompaniment to the dress I’ve reserved from Rent The Runway this holiday season and I CAN NOT WAIT TO WEAR THEM TOGETHER.
I’ll admit, I really didn’t need another foundation, but since I had just tossed a few disappointing ones… I was able to justify adding this gem.
Next up was a Sephora stop. Because bloggers. Did it matter that Brooke just had a haul less than two weeks ago, or that I just went through the employee appreciation sale + VIB Rogue sale? No. Though that being said, I did hold back knowing this trip was in the works.
Brooke pretty much put all of these in my basket. I’ve already used the Lotus Sleeping Mask with my mom when we did our annual viewing of It’s A Wonderful Life with Brandy Alexanders the next evening. First impressions are that the Sleeping Masks live up to all of the hype Brooke has been giving them. The Pomegranate Eye Mask was promptly worn in the early morning on my flight home – where I pretty much got off the plane and into a taxi to the office. As I only travel with carry-ons lately, I appreciated not having under-eye baggage too. Opinions on the Too Faced Love Flush Blush in Baby Love coming soon.
We also stumbled upon a cute travel perfect L’Occitane Oil Favorites trio, which I had to get considering two out of the three are current personal favorites. A new set of the Formula X System To Go, and some very new impulse Kat Von D additions. Of course during this excursion I hit VIB Rogue status again for next year – though I’m surprised it didn’t happen sooner… but the mini Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème was welcome perk.
Like I was going to go into Sephora and not pick up the new Favorites Superstars set? I mean 3 of these items justify the price of the box alone… Such heart-eyed-emoji.
The Color Around The World set was such a cute little find. Shaped like little notebooks, each with four shadows and a face powder (blush or bronzer). While I didn’t end up keeping any as they were prime picks to dole out for gifts and stocking stuffers.
What have you all purchased recently? Anything you’re super excited to gift for the holidays (to yourself or others, no judgements)!?
