I have a few Emi Jay Solid Hair Ties already (and three of them to boot, not just the one a la Birchbox…) from Sample Society last year. They’re ok, hold hair up well enough, but not exactly innovating in the hair tie product category. Where they do stand out is they donate a percentage of their profits to charity.
Now the Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels on the other hand, these were the babies I chose as my selected sample because I absolutely adore them! I took these to Vegas with me this past weekend and boy did they help my under-eye-luggage (that’s right, I had to upgrade the term because bags would not cut it). Plus I like that they actually stay put and you can go about your own business while pampering your eyes a bit. I’ve recently tried a few other hydrogel eye masks and they were slipping and sliding everywhere. Skyn Iceland holds strong in its undefeated HG status once again. Life-Pro-Tip: Use these before heading out while working on your eye makeup. That way, if your shadow has any fallout, it will land on the gels instead of your cheeks – making clean up super easy.
The COOLA Cucumber Moisturizer for Face SPF 30 is another sample I popped in my carry on to Vegas with me. It was a fairly decent little moisturizer, absorbed nicely, smelt good, didn’t feel sticky. The consistency was a little runny – but I’m not sure if that’s the formula, or just that it was around 110 degrees all weekend…
I’d say the Marcelle BB Cream Golden Glow has crazy coverage for a BB Cream. It’s a rather thick consistency and is a bit difficult to work in with your fingers, so I’d suggest using either a beauty blender or a dense brush. That being said it does sit nicely on the skin, and really smoothing out my complexion. Unfortunately the undertones are a bit too yellow for my skintone, so I’ve been cutting it with what’s less of my COOLA moisturizer… between the two of them it’s a pretty easy consistency to apply. Haha.
I was kinda apprehensive about this since I was super meh about the hair oil, but the Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle Spray I liked much better. It smells really nice, and I’ve been using at as a leave in conditioner at night to revive my curls. I have yet to use it as a heat protectant since I have like three other products that I’m trying to finish up, but it seems like it’d do just as good of a job.
Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner mini in Electric Blue. I goofed, I totally thought the color was Blue Lagoon when I posted the photo of it on my Instagram, only to be corrected by an astute follower that it was in fact not that. I surprisingly love the color considering I’m normally exclusive with neutral tones, it actually really brings out the grey tones in my eye color. While it’s super pigmented on the lid & waterline, it’s a little difficult to build up in the tightline. I want to pair it with the new Benefit Push-Up Liner in blue!
