For me the whole point of subscription boxes are trying products that I wouldn’t normally think of to sample or simply haven’t heard of yet. While I wasn’t as excited to get all of the products included, I have to give kudos to Sample Society for putting together another spectacular box. Included in September’s box:
➥ LORAC POREfection Mattifying Face Primer
➥ Tarte Brazilliance Maracuja Self Tanning Face Towelettes
➥ Givenchy Fragrance Dahlia Divin
➥ Alterna Caviar Repair RX Re-Texturizing Protein Cream
➥ Restorsea Revitalizing Eye Cream
I found the LORAC Primer pretty similar in consistency to the Smashbox Photo Finish and the NYX’s Photo Loving Primer. It applied really smoothly and did a good job at making an even base for my foundation – but I just kind of feel a bit “meh” about it. I wasn’t disappointed, it did what it’s supposed to do, but I wasn’t exactly wowed either.
Though this was my first time using the face tanning wipes from Tarte, I had pretty high expectations based on how well I’ve previously liked their tanning lotion. I used this after my PM skincare routine last night, and when I woke up this morning I had the most perfect glow. It wasn’t orangey, or streaky, and there were no fade lines from where I did apply the towelette and where I didn’t. Definitely going to love these as we move further into Fall/Winter.
I really liked wearing this fragrance to work, it’s more of a muted, delicate scent. Though it did have some serious staying power that I wasn’t expecting due to the softness of it. Without having to touch it up, it lasted all day at work through the end of meeting up with my friends at Happy Hour.
I haven’t gotten a chance to use the Alterna protein cream yet since I’ve started doing a more of a co-wash hair routine. More will be written about both of these things in future posts. Promise. [=
I was super excited to get a full size of the Restorsea Revitalizing Eye Cream. I’ve been using it for give or take a week, in both my morning and evening skincare routine. It does take a while to absorb, so I’m thinking I’m only going to use it at night from now on. Since I’ve started using it I‘ve definitely noticed that my under eye area isn’t nearly as baggy – though doesn’t do much for the dark circles that reside there. I do really like the texture, it kind of has this spongy feel to it…
