As I write this, I am snuggled up in my plush, overstuffed duvet, on quite possibly one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept on. If you’re looking for a mattress that won’t break your back or your bank, definitely check out Allswell.
My odyssey as the princess and the pea has been quite the journey, and suffice to say I’m happy to be talking about it in past tense. During an atypical rainy LA day, life decided to inconvenience me beyond my normal extended commute. You see, as I left for work that morning and it started to drizzle. I mean it
That day I didn’t have to worry about the monster under my bed, but rather the hole in the roof above it.
Cut to twelve hours later. Exhausted after a long day at work, and intense gym session to boot, all I wanted to do was climb into bed. However, crawling into my covers was met with what felt like an unwringed out kitchen sponge that some careless cretin had left at the bottom of the sink.
That little hole in the roof had turned into a not so little problem. Waterlogging my decorative throw blankets, double stuffed duvet, memory foam mattress, and last but not least everything stored under my bed. Everything entirely soaked with probably polluted, insulation brewed, LA roof rainwater. Say it with me now, EWW.
I will say as I panicked and called my landlord, that I probably couldn’t have asked for a better one. Within an hour he had an emergency plumber on site who had completely Dexter’ed out my room. That night as I slept on the couch with a

But really, it was comfortable from the moment it unfurled on my bed frame and still is months later as I sit here typing out this long-winded chronicle.
In the end, this princess 86’d the pea, and you know I’m gonna plug in this pun already, but sleeping has been all well since that upgrade. It also didn’t hurt that along with the mattress, I also picked out a few pieces from their bedding collection.
While the texture of their Waffle Weave Coverlet is what initially drew me in, I am incredibly impressed with the quality and actual weight of the blanket. It’s great for the slightly chillier winter nights, and pairs great with the White Linen Duvet Cover (and matching shams, because that seemed like the adult choice). It also doesn’t hurt that the linen only gets softer and more cozy with each wash.
Have any of you ordered a mattress online before? Which one did you go with and was it everything you expected it to be?
